This one I wrote after reading the Tibetan Book of The Dead after a long time. It got me thinking about the approach we have on death and dying and consumerism and escapism, and although it is lyrically nothing than a revision of all the other tracks on the split, the end give it it's meaning, that whatever you did, whoever you were, on your deathbed you will have all the time in the world to face that person and to understand the full extent of your actions, if you did not reflect on them in your lifetime. That's why I wanted to end it in the "last words" of a dying man, and since Orwell's final warning seemed quite fitting, I cut it out and gave it a new context in this. Everything depends on you. In this world, and in your own life, everything is Self-inflicted.
Vili played the outro with my slightly out of tune 12-string guitar, which sounds awesome.
lyrics
Päivästä toiseen
Samat synnit niskassa painaa
Naamio kasvoilla pysyy
Koulusta hautaan
Elämä valuu sormien läpi
Päivät vähenee
Kuoleman jälkeinen bardo lähenee
Päivästä toiseen
Samat rituaalit toistuu
Pakenet itseäsi
Syvemmälle unohdukseen
Elämä valuu sormien läpi
Vanhuus tuo mukanaan pakokauhun
Pelko ajaa sinut nurkkaan
Päivät vähenee
Kuoleman jälkeinen bardo lähenee...
Ja kuoleman hetkellä
Kaikki kauhut palaavat hetkessä
Oman elämäsi heijastukset
Varjokuvat vedessä
Näet kaiken pahan edessäs.
Orwell:
"There will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless… If you want the picture of the future; imagine a boot stamping on a human face forever. The moral to be drawn from this dangerous nightmare situation is a simple one: Don't let it happen. It depends on you."
